“We are honored to once again host Lou Scally and WJEJ, a cornerstone of community support in Washington County,” said Karen Giffin, Associate Chief Philanthropy and Marketing Officer. “This event began as a way to help build Doey’s House, and today it continues to sustain its operations. Since opening, more than 3,000 patients have received care at the inpatient unit.”
Giffin added that Scally’s ongoing dedication has been instrumental to the event’s success. “Lou’s passion for ensuring quality end-of-life care for everyone in our community, combined with WJEJ’s commitment and the generosity of its listeners, has helped this event grow year after year.”
During the Radio-Thon, community members are encouraged to participate, challenge friends, and contribute while enjoying prizes and special incentives. The first 25 callers will receive a Hospice Mini Keychain with Flashlight, and the first 25 donors contributing $250 or more will receive a Hospice Zip Toolkit. Donors at the $250 level and above will also have the opportunity to inscribe a commemorative Doey’s House paver.
