Tribute and Memorial Giving
Make a Gift In Memory of Someone
Name Hospice of Washington County in an Obituary
Families often request that memorial gifts be made to Hospice of Washington County in lieu of flowers. To do so, you may use the following language in an obituary:
“In lieu of flowers, the family may suggest memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Washington County, 1710 Underpass Way, Suite 300, Hagerstown, Maryland 21740, or make an online donation at hospiceofwc.org/donate-now.”

Doey’s House Tribute Plaques and Pavers
Tribute plaques and engraved pavers offer a meaningful and lasting way to honor someone special. Doey’s House is the only inpatient hospice unit in our community, providing compassionate care and support for patients and families.
Tribute pavers and names for our collective tribute plaques can be ordered throughout the year. Paver orders are placed twice annually, in the spring and fall, based on when orders are received.
Names added to the tribute plaques are included alongside others and may be submitted at any time during the year. Please allow approximately 2–3 weeks for processing and installation.
We currently maintain three shared tribute displays:
Veterans Tribute Plaque
First Responders Tribute Plaque
Tree Wall Tribute Display inside Doey’s House

Gift of Gratitude
As you reflect on the care your loved one received, we invite you to make a Gift of Gratitude. This meaningful program provides an opportunity to recognize a staff member or team who made a difference during your experience with Hospice of Washington County while also supporting our mission to provide compassionate hospice care and services. Donations may be directed to a specific program or center that holds special meaning to you.
You may honor anyone at Hospice of Washington County — including nurses, hospice aides, physicians, social workers, chaplains, volunteers, or other caregivers — and you may also recognize an entire team or Doey’s House. Your message of gratitude will be shared with those you honor, and they will receive special recognition in appreciation of their exceptional care and dedication.
OUR VISION:
Every life we touch is filled with peace, comfort, and dignity.
HWC does not turn away patients due to their inability to pay, thanks to donors like you.
